Terms and conditions
The agreement between you and NearHands Technologies Ltd when you use the site or book a professional through it.
1. Who we are
NearHands is operated by NearHands Technologies Ltd, registered in England & Wales (company number 14827391), at 18 Claypath, Durham DH1 1RH.
NearHands is a marketplace. We introduce you to independent professionals and handle booking and payment. We do not carry out the work ourselves and we are not a party to the contract for the work.
2. Your account
You must be 18 or over to hold an account. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for activity on your account unless you tell us it has been compromised.
Give us accurate contact details. Professionals rely on the address and phone number attached to a booking to turn up at the right place.
3. Bookings and cancellations
An instant booking is confirmed when you complete payment. A request-to-book is not a booking until the professional accepts it; nothing is charged before then.
You may cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 24 hours before the start time. Inside 24 hours, 50% of the service price is retained by the professional. No-shows are charged in full.
If a professional cancels, you are refunded in full automatically and we will surface alternatives with comparable availability.
4. Prices and payment
Fixed-price services are charged at confirmation. Hourly and metered work is charged after the visit against the hours or units recorded by the professional.
A £1.50 service fee is added to each booking. There is no fee on recurring visits after the first.
Prices shown include VAT where the professional is VAT registered.
5. The work itself
The contract for the work is between you and the professional. They are responsible for the standard of the work, their insurance, and any certification the trade requires.
Where a service is marked as needing a quote, the price is agreed between you and the professional before the work starts.
6. Reviews
You can review a professional after a completed booking. Reviews are published with your first name and last initial.
We remove reviews that identify third parties, contain abuse, or are posted by someone with no completed booking. We do not remove reviews for being negative.
7. Our liability
We are responsible for running the platform and handling your payment correctly. We are not responsible for the quality of the work, which is the professional's obligation.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
8. Changes to these terms
We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before a material change takes effect. Bookings already made are governed by the terms in force when you made them.
Our team can walk you through anything here in plain English.
